To say one is "resurrecting" something implies that it has been buried.
If we were to compare the christian church in America today with the
Christian church as it has been experienced throughout much of history,
you would find that lots of things have been buried. Some of these
things, like the crusades, we can perhaps do without! But many other
good things are getting harder and harder to find in churches today.
At Risen Christ Lutheran, we are not afraid to let religion feel
religious! We use the beautiful and basic worship format that has
enlivened the church's gatherings since the earliest days. The kind
and saving work of Christ in history (on the cross) and in the "here
and now" (from the pulpit and the altar) are at the center of our life
together. Our personal experiences, feelings, and commitments are not
at the center.
Feel buried in guilt? Come and be resurrected! That is one of the
blessings of Historic Christianity!
