Risen Christ Lutheran Church lives in the communion of God the Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit as the Gospel is preached and the Sacraments are
administered in our midst. Through these Gospel gifts, God the Holy
Spirit also draws others into this communion among us. Our members
and Pastor strive to reach out with Christ's love so that others are
invited and welcomed into this communion.
Risen Christ is a church of the historic Lutheran
Confession. We draw our life together from the teaching and
practice set forth in the Book of Concord.
We commune only those whose public confession of faith (church/synod
membership, etc.) genuinely accords with this confession. We utilize
only the historic liturgical forms which have been handed down in the
Lutheran Church and which are therefore printed in our two synodical
hymnals. We make no effort to blend in with modern pop-Evangelicalism.
In accord with historic Lutheran practice and in Christian Freedom we
celebrate Holy Communion at each Sunday morning service. We make use
of the chalice, the chasuble, the kneelers, the sign of the Cross, and
private absolution as individually needed or desired. We value the
crucifix that graces our chancel and depicts Christ's love for all
sinners. We treasure our Lutheran hymnody. Sound preaching of the Law
and the Gospel, Bible study, and Catechism instruction are central
features of our life together in Christ.
